Декан-засновник факультету прикладних наук Українського католицького університету (УКУ) та ад’юнкт-професор кількісних методів для прийняття бізнес-рішень та економіки у Бізнес-школі УКУ. Раніше працював доцентом кафедри міжнародного економічного аналізу та фінансів Львівського національного університету імені Івана Франка (ЛНУ ім. І. Франка), викладав та проводив дослідження у різних міжнародних установах, включаючи Університет Джорджа Вашингтона, Програму академічних стипендій Інституту відкритого суспільства в Будапешті, Інститут політики вищої освіти у Вашингтоні, округ Колумбія, та Університет Джорджа Мейсона. Він отримав низку міжнародних стипендій на конкурсній основі, включаючи запрошену дослідницьку стипендію Вільяма та Хелен Петрах (2001) та дослідницьку стипендію імені Фулбрайта (2013-14). Ярослав Притула отримав ступінь доктора філософії з математичного аналізу в ЛНУ ім. І. Франка у 2000 році. Його поточні дослідження пов’язані з кількісними методами в соціальних науках, соціально-економічним регіональним розвитком в Україні, корупцією та неформальними практиками в бізнесі та вищій освіті в Україні.
