Yurii’s journey into the world of science began at the Junior Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, where he made research projects for both the Ukrainian literature and informatics competitions in the same year simultaneously, securing 2nd and 3rd place at regional stages respectively.
In 2018, he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Ivan Franko National University of Lviv with a thesis “Application for obtaining properties (such as angle and shooting position) of historical photo”. Later, in 2020, he obtained his Master’s degree in Management from Ukrainian Catholic University, exploring bringing automated dubbing with original actors’ voices to market in his thesis.
Yurii’s professional journey spans government healthcare, working on recommendation systems and data analysis for retail, financials, automatic microchip quality assurance, and serving and processing vast amounts of geospatial data. Beyond his career, he’s an open-source contributor working on Text-To-Speech and Speech Recognition models with a focus on low-resourced languages, such as Ukrainian and Crimean Tatar languages, as well as text generation and question-answering models.
